Joachim Froment is a Belgian designer and artist. He graduated from a Master degree at the Royal College of Art in Product Design. In 2017, he started his career as a designer and project manager for Skibsted Ideation in Copenhagen where he led projects for renowned furniture and transportation companies in Denmark such as Hay, Engelbrecths, Danfoss and Biomega. Joachim won a few design awards such as the Rado Star Design Prize during the London Design Festival in 2017 and the Bolia Design Prize in 2018.

Cédric holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton (UK) as well as a management degree from the UCLouvain (Belgium). He then went on to became an R&D engineer for next generation fiber products at Nokia. Cédric will guide you during your product development steps and ensure deliveries of the highest standards.

Guillaume graduated in Electrical Engineering from UCLouvain (Belgium). He then joined Nokia as an R&D engineer for next generation fiber products at Nokia before joining Dekimo as a hardware engineer in Leuven. Guillaume is our technical lead, guiding the development of your product from definition to production using his wide and precise engineering skills. His knowledge and passion for connected devices is one of our company’s key assets.

Marthe’s passion for design was sparked while studying Electromechanical Engineering at KU Leuven in Ghent, leading her to pursue an additional degree in Product Design at TU Delft. Her vision is to impact lives through meaningful design that excels technologically while remaining approachable. Valuing creativity and innovation, she is always ready to roll up her sleeves to bring Futurewave’s products to that magical crossroad.

Quentin graduated as a Mechatronics engineer from UCLouvain in 2018. He started as a design engineer at Safran Aero Boosters where he was developing the next generation cryogenic valves for spacecraft application. Looking for a new thrilling experience, he joined FutureWave as an electromechanical engineer, working on the technical development of the products from idea to industrialization.

Running code at work and running outside of it - that's my journey!
Hugo is a dedicated biomedical engineer with a PhD from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), completed in 2022. His research focused on signal processing, instrumentation, neurostimulation, and electrical modeling. After his PhD, Hugo spent 1.5 years in Grenoble as an embedded software engineer for smart smoke detectors, enjoying skiing in winter and running in summer. Currently, at Futurewave, he develops firmware applications, tests products, and improves their reliability. Hugo is passionate about exploring new technologies and imagining innovative applications by combining them. He is also deeply involved in ultra-trail running, constantly pushing his limits.

Design is a good balance between logic and aesthetics
Clara is the frenchy of the team. After studying object, space and cullinary design at ESAD de Reims, she obtained a master’s degree in industrial design at ENSAV La Cambre. She is passionate about machine technology and software and is always open to learn new things.

With a background as industrial designer and co-founder of sports tech company SCARAB Sports, Oliver Francx is not afraid to take a leap of faith and challenge the status quo. An endless curiosity for the unknown drove him to be a true all-round nerd, who always keeps the bigger picture in mind. Strategic work on the intersection of design and innovation gets him especially energized.

Pierre studied graphic design and industrial design at La Cambre. He completed his studies while working in various studios such as TAVU, Open Structures, and Atelier Lionel Jadot. With several years of experience in mural painting and hands-on work, he was able to sharpen his hand and eye, which greatly assists him in his current practice.

If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything
Wouter holds a Bachelor and a Master degree in Engineering at UHasselt and KULeuven. Last year he was part of Formula Electric Belgium, there he created the complete low voltage system of an electric formula student race car. Wouter wants to keep on learning while developing hightech products that work efficiently and reliably. Thus becoming a strong engineer and bringing an added value to the people around him. Finally, he will develop the electronics for the different projects at Futurewave. This includes defining functionality, making schematics, creating layouts, programming and testing.

Thoma started his studies in Architecture but switched over to Industrial Design. Before, he has designed for the lightning industry and managed brands in the cookware industry. At Futurewave, he will be more focused on taking the projects from the conceptual phase to reality, making sure the products are fit for production and ready to be launched into the market.

Victor is a specialist in innovation with solid experience in new media and new technologies. His career in various creative, cultural and audiovisual agencies has enabled him to develop cutting-edge expertise in immersive experiences and innovative digital content, combining creativity and technology.

Marine studied Economics at UCL and developed an entrepreneurship angle by launching a startup called Drink A Flower (homemade low-sugar soft-drinks) and another project, taking part in the Startlab Incubator. Then she worked for 2.5 years at the well-known e-bike company Cowboy in the financial department. She joined Futurewave as the accounting and office Manager. Marine is also in contact with our suppliers and is responsible for keeping a great relationship with them. In her free-time she likes doing sport and travelling.

Design is about seeing the beauty in the ordinary
Josua Roters graduated from Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle (Germany) with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Industrial Design. He also spent a year at ENSAV La Cambre in Brussels as an Erasmus student, gaining additional insights into the field. His work has been featured in several international exhibitions, including Milan Design Week. Before joining us as a design intern, Josua contributed to various creative projects, where he explored the intersection of functionality and aesthetics. He looks forward to learning from the team and bringing fresh perspectives to the projects.
